"Ted Lasso Season 4 is on the horizon, with three main cast members set to return."

"Reports suggest that 'Ted Lasso' is poised to get the green light for its fourth season. Discussions about reviving the popular Apple TV+ sports comedy-drama have been ongoing since the end of season three last year, with fans eagerly awaiting confirmation. According to US media, Warner Bros. Television has secured options for the three original cast members: Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift."

"Waddingham plays Rebecca Walton, the owner of AFC Richmond, while Goldstein portrays the fiery assistant coach Roy Kent. Swift takes on the role of Leslie Higgins, the mild-mannered director of football operations and father of five.

The show’s debut series quickly garnered acclaim for its uplifting tone, offering comforting entertainment to millions of viewers during the height of the pandemic in August 2020."

"Variety reports that Jason Sudeikis, co-developer and star of the show, is expected to be involved 'in some capacity' as an executive producer.

The publication also notes that the options for Waddingham, Goldstein, and Swift were revealed first due to their membership with UK Equity, which involves different agreements compared to the US SAG-AFTRA cast, who will be negotiating next."

"Ted Lasso earned widespread critical acclaim and several awards, including multiple Emmys and back-to-back Golden Globes for Best Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for Sudeikis, who was also nominated for his performance in the third season.

The Independent's four-star review of season three highlighted the series’ unique structure, noting, 'Given the show’s format—one season of football per television season—there are natural limits to Ted Lasso’s evolution from year to year. Ted himself has transitioned from a purely comedic figure to a more tragic one.'

The review continued, 'While he still retains his endearing charm, there's now a visible sadness behind Ted’s habitual politeness. What began as a fish-out-of-water sitcom has subtly transformed into something much deeper and more engaging.'"
