Experience all the excitement from the Paris 2024 Paralympics!

 eam USA delivered another stellar performance in Para Equestrian at the Paris 2024 Paralympics, securing the Team gold on Friday.

This victory marks the American team's third title in the Paris 2024 Para Equestrian events. Fiona Howard (Diamond Dunes) and Rebecca Hart (Floratina) built on their Individual golds, while Roxanne Trunnell, who earned silver in Grade I with Fan Tastico H, was also a key member of the winning US team.

Howard’s impressive 80.000% was the highest individual score of the Paris 2024 Paralympics so far and clinched the win.

The Netherlands, the reigning World champions, took the silver medal, while Germany secured bronze.

Italy placed fourth, with host nation France coming in fifth—one spot higher than their finish at Tokyo 2020. Great Britain, who haIn a thrilling contest, sixteen teams lined up at the esplanade next to the iconic Palace of Versailles to vie for the Team medals. The stands were packed with flag-waving fans proudly sporting their nations' colors.

Each country selected three athletes from their four representatives, chosen by their Chef d’Equipe based on their Individual event performances and potential in the Team Para Grand Prix B test.

The competition was fiercely close between the USA, who had excelled in the Individual medals, and the Netherlands. Ultimately, Grade II Individual gold medalist Howard's score stood out as the highest of the day, breaking the 80 percent barrier.d won every Team title since 1996, finished in sixth place.

Teammates Roxanne Trunnell, who earned Grade I Individual silver on Tuesday with Fan Tastico H, and Grade III gold medalist Rebecca Hart with Floratina, delivered scores of 77.000% and 78.567% respectively, securing the victory for Team USA.


Dutch Win Silver Again

With Team USA leading with 235.567 points, the Netherlands faced a tough challenge. Sanne Voets (Demantur), Demi Haerkens (Daula), and Rixt van der Horst (Royal Fonq) finished with a combined score of 232.850, having just come off Individual medals earlier in the week. While they fell short of the Americans, their performance was strong enough to secure them the silver, matching their position from Tokyo.

Germany rounded out the event with a total score of 223.116. Their highest individual score came from Grade V silver medalist Regine Mispelkamp with Highlander Delight, who earned 75.500%. Anna-Lena Niehues (Quimbaya 6) and Heidemarie Dresing (Doolop) scored 75.351% and 72.900%, respectively. This placed them just under fourth-place Italy, who, led by Grade I bronze medalist Sara Morganti and Mariebelle with a score of 79.458%, finished ahead.

Belgium secured seventh place, with Denmark, Austria, Ireland, Canada, Australia, Norway, Sweden, Singapore, and Finland rounding out the standings.

Para Dressage will conclude on Saturday with the Freestyle competition, where the top eight individual finishers from each grade will have one final opportunity to earn medals.
