It’s International Day in the UFC!
As the mixed martial arts organization returns to its Middle Eastern home in Abu Dhabi, the 13-fight card at Etihad Arena showcases a distinctly global atmosphere. The main event features a featherweight championship grudge match, highlighting the international spirit of the event.
With 26 fighters representing 17 different countries, the card promises a diverse array of talent.
In the main event, reigning champion Ilia Topuria faces off against former titleholder Max Holloway for the supremacy in the 145-pound division. Topuria claimed the belt earlier this year by defeating Alexander Volkanovski, while Holloway held the title for over two years before losing it to Volkanovski in 2019.
The pay-per-view event, branded as UFC 308, also features an exciting middleweight clash between former champion Robert Whittaker and the undefeated contender Khamzat Chimaev. Chimaev burst onto the scene during the pandemic-driven "Fight Island" events but has fought only four times since 2020.
The B/R combat team is on-site to capture all the action, providing real-time updates on the event's key winners and losers. Stay tuned for our insights, and feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!
